Fieldrunners is now in closed beta on Steam!

That’s right! We’re excited to announce that Fieldrunners is coming to Steam for both Mac and PC for just $4.99!  Fieldrunners on Steam will include all 8 maps from the original game, plus a new tower and new modes from Fieldrunners Chrome.  Our team will be at PAX East on Friday and Saturday to help spread the good news.  Come find us to get your free Steam key for Fieldrunners so that you can join in on the ultimate tower defense experience!

The Steam version of Fieldrunners is looking and playing better than ever. To make sure things are absolutely perfect, we’re starting off with a closed beta that will last about a month.  Since this is a beta, the more people testing, the better, so be prepared to stop those pesky fieldrunners once again!  To get in to the closed beta, come find our team at PAX  - keys are limited at this point, so it will be on a first come first serve basis.  To be clear, these keys convert to full paid versions of the game once we finish the beta, so you’ll end up with a free copy of Fieldrunners.  To thank you all for your support, we’ll be giving a discount on our super secret upcoming project to everyone that gets a copy of Fieldrunners for Steam!

How exactly will you find us at PAX East?  I thought you’d never ask!  As you can see in the picture above, we’ve got awesome costumes custom made so that we can look just like the Fieldrunners!  We don’t have a booth, but we’ll be roaming the convention center as a group, dressed up and handing out free game codes to everyone that’s interested.

Fieldrunners Chrome is back up and running! We pushed through a few back end updates that will have the game running more smoothly than ever.  Thanks for all your patience and support!

Fieldrunners HD is scheduled to launch on Android tomorrow (Thursday, July 7th) at approximately 12 AM Pacific Time.  Awesome!  For the first 24 hours, the game will be featured on Amazon’s Appstore for Android as the “Free App of the Day.”  At the same time, fans outside of the US will be able to get Fieldrunners HD in the Android Market, where it will be discounted to (the equivalent of) $1 for the first 24 hours.  After the first 24 hours, the game will continue selling in both stores for $2.99.  So, get it while it’s hot!

Both Amazon and Google have been very flexible – they’ve been following everything closely and want to help us do whatever it takes to make you all happy.  We’re very excited about having the opportunity to launch our game globally and at a discount, and we wouldn’t have been able to do this without their support.

Good news, everyone: Our dreams have come true – we’ll be releasing Fieldrunners HD for free for the first day!  This is all courtesy of Amazon, who noticed the trouble we’d been having and offered to help us out.  Thank you, Amazon!  We’re very excited that we can now give the game away for free for the first day, and I hope you’re all looking forward to this, too.  After all, we did this for you, the fans!

Unfortunately, this means that Fieldrunners HD will NOT be launching today.  However, we’re hoping that making the game free for the first day of its release on Amazon will make up for this.  We understand that non-US fans won’t be able to purchase the game while it’s in the Amazon Appstore – we feel your pain!  Our exclusivity period with Amazon will last two weeks, after which we will release Fieldrunners HD on other marketplaces that you will be able to access.  Our official release day on Amazon is still undecided, but it should be sometime very soon, and we will let you all know when it’s available… for free
